Digital SAT Structure at a Glance

The exam has two scored sections, each split into two timed modules:

There is a 10-minute break between sections. You cannot return to Reading & Writing once Math begins.

Adaptive Module 2 Routing

Each section uses multistage adaptive testing (MST):

1. Module 1 is the same difficulty for all students in a section.
2. Your Module 1 performance determines whether Module 2 is easier or harder.
3. The hard Module 2 path unlocks a higher score ceiling.

Reading & Writing vs Math

Scoring: No Penalty for Wrong Answers

The Digital SAT uses rights-only scoring within each module — there is no guessing penalty. Blank answers and wrong answers both count as incorrect.
