Exam day anxiety often comes from uncertainty — not the content. Use this 2026 AP exam day checklist to pack the right items, configure your device, and know what to expect for both fully digital and hybrid digital Bluebook exams.

One Week Before: Device & App Prep

  • Install Bluebook from bluebook.app.collegeboard.org
  • Run the exam setup check on your testing device
  • Confirm device meets specs (Windows, Mac, iPad, or school Chromebook per policy)
  • Charge fully the night before; bring charger if allowed
  • Complete any AP Digital Portfolio submissions (CSP, Seminar, Art, etc.)
  • Take a timed practice exam on AP Practice Exam Online to rehearse pacing

Night Before

  • Set two alarms
  • Prepare approved ID (government-issued photo ID or school ID per policy)
  • Print or save AP admission ticket if your school requires it
  • Pack approved calculator (if your exam allows — Calc, Physics, Stats, etc.)
  • No last-minute cram past 10 PM — sleep beats one more chapter
  • Review fully digital vs hybrid format for YOUR subjects

Morning Of: What to Bring

  • Smartwatches or fitness trackers
  • Notes, textbooks, formula sheets (unless provided in Bluebook)
  • Earbuds (unless approved accommodation)
  • Another person expecting to wait in the testing room

During the Exam: Bluebook Procedures

  1. Check in with proctor; verify device connects to Test Day Toolkit
  2. Enter start code when proctor announces
  3. Use tools: highlight, mark-for-review, option eliminate (see interface guide)
  4. Hybrid only: At Section II, proctor distributes FRQ booklets — write all work in the booklet
  5. Submit when timer ends — fully digital exams auto-submit

After the Exam

  • Don't discuss specific questions online (College Board policy)
  • Estimate your score with our AP score calculator
  • Log weak topics in Mistake Review while memory is fresh
  • Mark calendar: scores release July 6, 2026 (details)
